Baby Blue Eyes (Nemophila menziesii) is a native wildflower found throughout North America. It thrives in various habitats, including meadows, open woodlands, and coastal areas. This annual plant is widely known for its delicate blue flowers.

Baby Blue Eyes’ bloom stretches from spring to summer, during which the cup-shaped flowers and fern-like foliage create an appealing display. The flowers are heliotropic, meaning they track the sun's movement throughout the day to maximize exposure for optimal photosynthesis. The nectar-rich flowers are attractive to a wide range of pollinators such as native bees, butterflies, and syrphid flies, while the seeds of Baby Blue Eyes are also a preferred food for some birds.

Baby Blue Eyes has a preference for well-drained soils with moderate organic matter content, though it can adapt to different soil types, including sandy or loamy soils. For successful germination, sow the seeds in early spring or fall. Scatter the seeds on the soil and lightly press them in.
